Instructor of Health and Nutrition

Karmen is a clinical nutritionist with undergraduate degrees in Human Nutrition and Sociology from the University of Idaho, a Master’s Degree in Integrative and Functional Nutrition, and she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Mind-Body Medicine with a specialization in Integrative and Functional Nutrition from Saybrook University. She previously taught as an adjunct professor at Moody Bible Institute–Spokane as a health and wellness instructor. She also currently owns a nutrition practice, Cultivate: Mind-Body Nutrition, with locations in Coeur d'Alene and Liberty Lake.

Karmen consults with clients throughout Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington on a variety of health conditions, but she is most passionate about nutrition's impact on autoimmunity and women's health. She is fired up about nutrition education, so she frequently volunteers as an instructor for the Inland Northwest Food Network cooking classes and as a teacher for "Dinner with a Dr.", an organization that provides holistic health education to the greater Spokane area. When Karmen is not in the clinic or teaching, she finds joy in giving the North Idaho community recipes and food that is good for their mind, body, and soul. She is a self-taught cook that has a passion for quality, as well as creating food that nourishes the whole body.
